doubts on blue tooth enabled temperature sensor
Post: #1

hi guys,

i am a new user in this site and this seems to a good site.

and i am trying to do this mini project on blue tooth enabled temperature sensor.
i think it is an awesome idea but the thing is i am in my 2nd year only and my knowledge level in ECE is very limited. Sad
i have managed to gather some material but can't make much of it.
so i am asking you my doubts hoping you will be patient and clear my doubts.
so here goes:

(1) the process starts off with a thermal sensor, followed by adder, amplifier and rectifier.I have no problems with these components but then one has to go on to use PIC16F877 whose nature, charachteristics, uses i do not know. but the specifications given are RS232 Standard,iSPA (which still does not make sense to me Sad ). and that PIC also requires some programming and testing. programming :L.E.T PicBasic Pro,PICALL. testing :A/D,USART.

(2). there is another component whose necessity i am not aware off: Impulsesoft Serial Port Adapter (iSPA). the info i have says that it acts as a COM port.

(3) then there is this PCMCIA Card also which sounds like greek and latin to me.

(4) i also want to know about the Data acquisition from COM port, PIC programming.

thanks for reading the entire post. Smile

do try and post some answer if you are aware of any of these topics.

again thanks for your patience.

looking forward to your reply.

thanks in advance,

on trying to use the help of google i came across this info:

PIC16F877 is not recommended for the present times and instead PIC16F887 is the most preferred one owing to its speed and other features.

i am still looking out for info on the new one.

¢ Acts as a COM port
o Configure Server
doing Bits/sec, stop bits, flow control
o taking Data Transmission

¢ act as Client
¢ Configure as COM port
¢ Data Acquisition process

and read its asimilar project for home automation... i hope the Technic used here help you
you can learn Data acquisition from COM port from here its a similar article and written for printer

thanks a lot buddy, but i am yet to make head or tail of it. hope to get it done soon.Smile
and thanks again buddy Smile

Hey ,
you can visit this site for C program demos and tutorials. Programming for PIC is the same as the C programming we have learned except we have to change the value of the variables and the input and output port names are to be used. Its simple and your second year knowlwdge of C is enough.

Different model PICs are available and they may differ in their memory capacity, clockspeed and the pin positions but most of them are 40 pin ICs. adder, amplifier and rectifier are simple circuits. RS232 is the serial port of the computer. It means that your computer must have a serial port. more:

Pic programming can be done in softwares like microC pro or L.E.T PicBasic Pro,PICALL. They are for compiling the C code. Testin means running the code in the PIC and verifying if it works. You can download PICsimulator . A/d and USART are ports on the computer.

thank you seminars buddy. Smile

but the site you said i could visit for C prog. demos and tutorials is not been written Exclamation, mind mentioning it ?Smile

anyways still a lot of thanks Big Grin
